  • "Our family had been considering the purchase of a vacation home and on a whim, we followed some Open House signs while we were up in Lake Tahoe for the Thanksgiving weekend, 2006. One of those signs led us to our serendipitous meeting with Matt Hanson. While we weren’t interested in the house he was showing, we did pepper him with probably a few dozen questions about buying a house in/around Lake Tahoe. We were immediately impressed with his openness in sharing his knowledge and experience, and despite our indications to him that we were envisioning a lengthy research period (over 6 months), Matt’s enthusiasm to help us in this process did not diminish and were genuine. Over the course of the following months, we would carve out one day from our ski weekends to see houses.   • My wife and I we referred to Matt by a mutual friend after working with a few agents that we were not giving us much attention, as we were unsure of when (or even if really) we'd be moving to Truckee from the Bay Area. Matt treated us like we were buying tomorrow, showed us many properties and neighborhoods, even came and sat in our house to make sure the street noise was not too loud before we bought it (Amazing, I know). This was over the course of 6 months always on weekends. Matt pointed out things we never even thought of asking like exposures, driveway types, snow loads, where the sun would be in the winter sky in different neighborhoods and houses etc. He let us decide if a house was acceptable, then pointed out all the good and "bad" points. We ended up with a house, lot and neighborhood that we absolutely love. Thanks Matt.

  • Sirs, I lived in Truckee from 1981-2003, and I used Matt Hanson to sell my Tahoe Donner properties. He was referred to me by another good friend and long time Truckee local.  After interviewing three realtors following a dismal experience with my prior listing agent, I chose Matt.  Matt was forthright and courteous, and did everything he said he would do. If I do any real estate transactions again, I will call Matt in a heartbeat. This man is customer oriented and not in the big ego, self-aggrandizement mode that I encountered all too often.
