We worked with Matt Hanson after being directed to one of his listings on the Web. We recently purchased a fractional ownership at Lake Tahoe. We think fractional ownership is the way to go. Many realtors shy away from fractional sales but not Matt. He worked with us through the negotiation phase, through the inspection phase and finally helped us get the keys to the door!! Neither, we, the buyers or the sellers, lived in the area and yet Matt kept the communication lines open via email and phone calls. He was always available to us no matter day of week or time of day. - We met Matt when we stopped by his open house one Saturday in Tahoe Donner. He struck us as very helpful, friendly and quite knowledgeable about the Tahoe real estate market, and especially the Tahoe Donner area. We visit the area frequently in winter, and sometimes summer too. We thought it might be a good time to buy, and he immediately uploaded some listings on his computer. We made arrangements to return to Tahoe Donner, and he showed us 16 houses in one afternoon. "Our family had been considering the purchase of a vacation home and on a whim, we followed some Open House signs while we were up in Lake Tahoe for the Thanksgiving weekend, 2006. One of those signs led us to our serendipitous meeting with Matt Hanson. While we weren’t interested in the house he was showing, we did pepper him with probably a few dozen questions about buying a house in/around Lake Tahoe. We were immediately impressed with his openness in sharing his knowledge and experience, and despite our indications to him that we were envisioning a lengthy research period (over 6 months), Matt’s enthusiasm to help us in this process did not diminish and were genuine. Over the course of the following months, we would carve out one day from our ski weekends to see houses. Matt would prepare a list of viable candidates and in course of seeing the houses, he was always well informed on the properties and meticulous in giving us relevant material on the property. Our feedback was duly incorporated to hone future selections. This made the use of our limited time available to see houses, highly efficient and productive.Happily, we can report that we recently completed the purchase of our vacation home in Truckee Donner thanks to Matt. - My wife and I we referred to Matt by a mutual friend after working with a few agents that we were not giving us much attention, as we were unsure of when (or even if really) we'd be moving to Truckee from the Bay Area. Matt treated us like we were buying tomorrow, showed us many properties and neighborhoods, even came and sat in our house to make sure the street noise was not too loud before we bought it (Amazing, I know). This was over the course of 6 months always on weekends. Matt pointed out things we never even thought of asking like exposures, driveway types, snow loads, where the sun would be in the winter sky in different neighborhoods and houses etc. He let us decide if a house was acceptable, then pointed out all the good and "bad" points.
