Tahoe Truckee Homes

Market News

As I reflect on 2006 we can see a year when the market changed. I personally saw a shift from the Sellers market to a Buyers market. As this year rounds out we are finding the Truckee/Tahoe area faired well compared to some markets. Our number of units sold was down from the past few years but it did better than most areas of the state. Prices are stabilizing at this time as we watch the inventories come back down to more normal winter levels. The season is closing out strong with our office having its best month of the year in November. There has been an increase in showings the past few months, which I have seen personally in my listings. Interest rates came back down from their summer highs and prices corrected enough to bring many Buyers back to the market.

I have continued to increase my listings in Grizzly Ranch. Currently I have over 20% of the resale lots available for purchase. As always I owe a large part of my business this year to you my friends, my clients, and my family. For that I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart.

2007 Development Forecast

Looking forward to 2007 is very exciting. There are many new opportunities coming to our area. New developments like Martis Camp, Timilick, The Ritz, 80/50, The Rock, Tahoe Vista Landing, Coyote Run and the new Sierra College Campus. Three of these developments 80/50, Tahoe Vista Landing, and Coyote Run are being offered exclusively through Intero Real Estate Services. If you would like any information on these or any other opportunities please let me know. I am looking forward to a balance in the real estate market for 2007. I believe many of the speculative Sellers that tried to sell homes this year will not be back next year which will better equalize the supply to demand. There is strong speculation that the second home market will fair better than most due to strong demands of the baby boomers. The primary home market will continue to see an influx of folks escaping the busier areas of the Bay and Sacramento. Additional help will come from stable interest rates and a strengthening economy. I am stepping up my marketing plans and intend to go in to 2007 stronger than ever. There are going to be some great opportunities out there for everyone and I would love to have the opportunity to show you them.
